In addition to reading academic literature, reflecting on the school year, writing, and planning for the year ahead, I made teacher goals to improve my physical fitness, listen to new music, rejuvenate — be a human.
Music: I’m catching up on podcasts from NPR’s All Songs Considered (i.e., my cheat sheet for new, good music). Here are a few of my favorites that I’ve heard so far:
- Tempest by Lucius
- Over Your Head by Pale Honey
- Change by Mapei
- Come and See by Protomartyr
- Lonely Daze by Kate Tempest
Fitness: I’ve set the rather modest goal of being able to run (or jog if I’m going to be realistic) 5K without feeling completely exhausted. To that end, I’m cycling, eating well, and otherwise making the decision to prioritize my physical health.
What are you doing to prepare your body and mind for the next school year?
